| Background Information | Deafblind UK seeks "a society in which deafblind people have the permanent support and recognition necessary to be equal citizens." To this end, it provides support to the deafblind and those working with them, though training, publications and a helpline. In 1963 the organization established the unique Rainbow Court in Peterborough, a complex of flats designed to allow deafblind people to live independently. The current name was adopted in 1996.
