| Background Information | "Families Anonymous [FA] is a world wide fellowship of relatives and friends of people involved in the abuse of mind-altering substances, or with related behavioural problems." FA, a network of self-help groups, was established in the United States in 1971, coming to the United Kingdom nine years later. Based upon the model of Alcoholics Anonymous, FA now has 50 groups in the UK.
