DescriptionRecords of the Standing Conference on Racial Equality in Europe (SCORE) are among the Bernie Grant Collection. The online catalogue (A2A) describes the records as:

"A large body of papers documenting the national launch, administration and core activities undertaken by the Standing Conference on Racial Equality in Europe (SCORE). Includes central corporate records such as minutes, administration, and financial details, documents of establishment, correspondence and reports. While not all sub-committee records have survived, there are significant minutes from a number of committees such as the National Executive Committee, Editorial and Publicity Sub-committee, and the Refugee Sub-Committee. Of note are the minutes of some Annual General Meetings and the Emergency Executive Meeting documenting the constitutional basis and authority of the organisation. The correspondence held primarily relates to exchanges with affiliated organizations, Labour groups, members and government ministers pertaining to discussions re the implications of the Single European Act (SEA). Includes key exchanges with principal correspondents such as Prime Minister John Major and Pauline Green, Member of European Parliament (MEP). There are files held relating to a constitutional dispute within the Standing Conference on Racial Equality in Europe (SCORE) as investigated by the Commission for Racial Equality Inquiry. Also located on dispute files are letters issued by Bernie Grant in response to libellous press releases concerning the affair. Of particular note, some letters document the establishment of the Migrants Forum and papers from the Refugee and Asylum-Seekers Working Group. Also held are files which were specifically maintained as a record of the national launch of the organisation as well as a series of speeches delivered by Bernie Grant as Chair of Standing Conference on Racial Equality in Europe. The bulk of SCORE's records comprise 'Race, Europe & 1992' Research Material carefully maintained and accumulated with the objective of examining the potential implications of the 1992 Single European Act for Black and Minority Ethnic groups. Among other issues, papers refer to Youth Against Racism in Europe, All Europe Anti-Racist Demonstrations, and European Parliamentary documents relating to the Committee of Inquiry into Racism and Xenophobia. Includes a useful booklist re '1992 and Its Implications for Britain's Black Communities'. There are also a large quantity of subject files relating to issues such as Black and Minority Ethnic Consultation; 'EuroConference papers' [Black Citizens' of Europe Conference]; Europe and Racism; Freedom of Movement for persons within the Internal Market; and Immigration Debate and policy reform. Some copies of SCORE's official newsletters, titled 'Scoreboard' have also survived and are held in this sub-fonds."
