Hearing Concern LINK was formed from a merger between the LINK Centre for Deafened People (established in 1972 to provide rehabilitation and support for deafened adults and their partners, families and carers) and Hearing Concern/British Association for the Hard of Hearing (established in 1947 to improve the quality of life for people who are deaf or hard of hearing). In its merged capacity, the organisation seeks to "achieve the best possible quality of life for all adults affected by hearing loss whose main method of communication is speech."
