| Background Information | Global Witness is a campaign group seeking "to highlight the link between the exploitation of natural resources and human rights abuses, particularly where the resources such as timber, diamonds and oil are used to fund and perpetuate conflict and corruption." The fruits of research and undercover investigation are made public and presented to policy-makers in a bid to support reform.
A charitable arm, the Global Witness Trust (UK) (charity no. 1071946) was established in 1998. There also exists a California-based Global Witness Foundation, alongside offices in Cambodia and Cameroon.
