| Background Information | The IPPR (Institute for Public Policy Research) is a progressive think tank, often seen as being close to New Labour. It covers a broad range of policy areas, including human rights, fiscal policy, crime and the environment.
The IPPR was established by Lords Eatwell and Hollick, on the initiative of the former. It was conceived partly as a counter to right-wing think tanks such as the Centre for Policy Studies and the Institute of Economic Affairs.
