| Background Information | BackCare, the working name of the National Back Pain Association, is a medical charity providing advice and information on the management and prevention of back pain, alongside the promotion of research and best practice regarding its causes and treatment. The charity was founded by Stanley Grundy, following personal experience of the problem. An original priority was engendering inter-disciplinary coordination amongst professionals, an approach rewarded by the Department of Health's 1992 Clinical Standards Advisory Group (CSAG) report.
