| Background Information | In its own words, "the Socialist Health Association exists to promote health and wellbeing, social justice, and the eradication of inequalities through the application of socialist principles to society and government." Founded by Dr Charles Wortham Brook, (with the first meeting being chaired by Dr Somerville Hastings), and affiliated to the British Labour party, the SHA is an active campaigning organisation, and maintains a small network of local groups.
