| Background Information | Against the backdrop of the Second World War, Chief Rabbi Hertz and Archbishop of Canterbury William Temple established the Council of Christians and Jews (CCJ) as a joint organisation to combat both anti-Semitism, and prejudice more generally.
The CCJ currently has approximately 4,000 members through a system of local branches.
