Fauna and Flora International is a major conservation charity (no. 1011102) and the world's oldest international conservation society, conducting conservation and biodiversity work across the world. It was originally founded in Africa, with the intention of protecting the large mammals of southern Africa. The organisation played a role in the establishment of the CITES agreement (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), and in the foundation of WWF, the World Conservation Union (IUCN), and Traffic International.
