| Description | "The papers of the Society consist of minutes, reports and journals dating back to the inception of the Society in 1831, although some material was destroyed action during World War II. The minutes of the Council since the Society's foundation and a complete run of its magazine Joy and Light from the publication of the first edition in 1948 are available at the Society's headquarters. Copies of the annual report are retained for the period 1926-51, after which date the reports were incorporated into the magazine. Annual accounts exist from 1978 to date and some correspondence with government and local authorities has been retained. Certain records of the predecessor societies are also available. Enquiries should be directed to the General Secretary."
