| Background Information | Established following the Second World War, the League for Democracy in Greece sought the promotion of democracy and human rights in Greece, alongside raising awareness amongst the British public of conditions there. Following the collapse of the Colonel's regime in 1974, the organisation continued for some time as the Friends of Democracy in Greece.
