| Background Information | Queen Anne's Bounty, or the Governors of the Bounty of Queen Anne for the Augmentation of the Maintenance of Poor Clergy, was established in 1704 in order to meet the challenge of Church poverty. The assets of the fund were inherited by the Church Commissioners in 1948, and have since been taken on by the Archbishops' Council. Source: www.cofe.anglican.org |
