| Background Information | The Asian Youth Movement was a network of grass-roots anti-racist campaigns, active in the 1970s and 1980s. The Southall Youth Movement was formed in 1976, followed the next year by the Bradford-based Indian Progressive Youth Association (IPYA), which renamed itself Asian Youth Movement Bradford in 1978.
