| Background Information | The Greenham Common Women's Peace Campaign was an iconic and internationally-famous women-only peace camp in the 1980s and 1990s, based outside RAF Greenham Common Airbase, Berkshire. The camp was initiated by the Welsh pacifist group Women for Life on Earth, who had marched from Cardiff in order to challenge the siting of nuclear missiles at the airbase, during a time of heightened Cold War tension.
