| Description | "The Royal Society for Nature Conservation archive has been retained at its headquarters. Formal administrative records consist of the Council and Executive Committee minutes since 1920; other committee minutes (e.g. Reserves, 1959-63, and Conservation liaison, 1968-70); Council and committee signature books, 1912-73; and a register of correspondence, 1962-73. In addition there are over 150 boxes of correspondence, reports, press-cuttings etc. from 1912 onwards on all aspects of the Society's work. Publications which have been kept include the Handbook (1923-69) and its successor Conservation Review (which contains the Annual Report). Published accounts are available since 1912; other financial records (e.g. ledgers) are incomplete" (C. Cook, The Routledge Guide to British Political Archives, 2006). |
