| Background Information | The British Nigeria Association is a friendship society, formed in the wake of Nigerian independence. It was founded by former colonial administrator and future Conservative MP Ivor Stanbrook. The Association also established the Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Memorial Trust Fund in 1968, in order to support Nigerian educational projects, and enjoys close relations with its Nigerian sister-body, the Nigeria Britain Association.
