"Engender is an information, research and networking organisation for women in Scotland, working with other groups locally and internationally to improve women's lives and increase their power and influence. The organisation campaigns to ensure that women and their concerns have greater visibility and equal representation at all levels of Scottish society." Engender is also a member of the UK Joint Committee on Women, alongside its sister organisations the Northern Ireland Women's European Platform (NIWEP), the Wales Women’s European Network (WWEN), and the National Alliance of Women's Organisations (NAWO).
