Since its conception by a group of committed and dedicated professionals, the HRF was formed to provide emergency relief aid and assistance to the third world countries. Its main focus as humanitarian organisation was to help in alleviating the suffering of the needy, destitute and innocent people of Iraq who have been affected by the Gulf War of 1991 and the UN sanctions imposed by the UN on Iraq. The relief work has then expanded to other areas including Somalia, Ethiopia, Chechnya, Bosnia, Kosova, Kashmir, India, Afghanistan, Palestine and other areas where is needed. The HRF also responded to many emergency calls where national disasters strike such as earthquakes, floods, famine, and drought etc."
