| Background Information | The Jubilee Debt Campaign seeks the cancellation of the debt owed to rich nations by the developing world. It is a coalition of organisations, including major international development charities such as CAFOD, Christian Aid, Oxfam GB and Save the Children. The Campaign is the successor body to Jubilee 2000 and the Debt Crisis Network, the latter of which had campaigned on debt cancellation since the 1980s, and became Jubilee 2000 in 1997. The following year, the group organised a major protest against debt during the G8 summit in Birmingham.
The campaign has a Scottish sister organisation, Jubilee Scotland, and is linked to Jubilee Research, another successor body to Jubilee 2000, which is located within the New Economics Foundation.
