| Background Information | The small Don't Know Campaign appeared during the 1975 referendum on British membership of the then European Economic Community. With the slogan 'Pass the Buck - Back Where It Belongs', the campaign argued that making decisions such as these was what MPs were both qualified to do, and paid for, unlike the general public, and therefore a referendum was inappropriate. |
