Additional informationThere are records (1954-60) of the society held at Oxford University: Bodleian Library of Commonwealth and African Studies at Rhodes House (source:NRA). These records consist of MSS. Afr. s. 970 (Capricorn Africa Society): "File of material, 1954-1960, including convention papers, June 1956, some correspondence, papers entitled 'Foundations of a multi-racial society', drafts of the Capricorn contract, memorandum of evidence to be submitted to the Monckton Commission. One volume", and MSS. Afr. s. 1533 (File of correspondence between J H Oldham and Lord Hailey, 1954. 28 folios) (source: contact with Bodleian Library, Rhodes House, July 2007). There are no electronic finding aids to these - they are described on index cards in Rhodes House reading room.
