| Background Information | The Ad Hoc Committee for Peace in the Falklands was formed against the backdrop of the 1982 Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands, and the subsequent conflict with Britain. According to Conservative MP and historian Julian Lewis, the body, which oversaw a network of local groups, received help from CND.
