| Background Information | ROPE (Rights for Oppressed People Everywhere) is a Christian international development charity (no. 1069608) working to alleviate suffering and poverty across the developing world. ROPE works with a wide range of marginalised and needy members of society, from street children to refugees to drug addicts. The charity was founded by Michael Wood. In 2002 'Friends of Rope' was established as a separate charity to assist with ROPE's running costs.
