Shaw Trust originally comprised 5 disabled residents in the village of Shaw (Wiltshire) seeking to improve their chances of employment within the community. The ethos of the organisation, both then and now, was to focus on providing members with the opportunity to gain successful employment, thereby developing their independence and self-confidence. Today, Shaw Trust is the UK’s largest third sector provider of employment services for disabled and disadvantaged people, offering businesses strategies to incorporate such groups into the workplace and individuals with support to access jobs and work preparation schemes.
