The International Union for Land Value Taxation (IU) was established to "promote permanent peace and prosperity for everyone by re-establishing mankind's natural relationship with land" (IU). It campaigns to address the root causes of poverty and to challenge law and land taxation policies that result in unequal advantage in the market economy. The IU is presently seeking an amendment to section 3 of the UN Declaration of Human Rights to include a reference to land ("Everyone has the right to life, liberty, land and security of person"), arguing that the moral, political and economic conditions of human beings is inextricably linked to the land and that everyone has an equal right to benefits flowing from it.
