The Bisexual Index, currently headed by Marcus Morgan, is a network of activists and bisexuals that "exists to promote bisexuality as a valid sexual identity, through providing a wide, simple definition of bisexuality as a sexual orientation and encouraging the people to whom it applies to use that definition as their identity" (The Bisexual Index) in order to improve the acceptance of bisexuality more generally. According to The Index, "to be bisexual all a person has to do is be attracted to more than one gender" (The Bisexual Index). The organisation raises public awareness of issues associated with bisexuality at Prides and BiFests, and campaigns for the equal treatment of bisexuals in society (http://www.bisexualindex.org.uk/index.php/Main/HomePage)
