Description

The online collection guide describes the collection titled 'Commonwealth & Continental Church Society' (ref L10.062) as consisting of "records of administration, fund raising and other supporting activities in the UK, as well as of the Society's work overseas. Mostly from 1851, but also a few pre-1851 records of both predecessor societies, chiefly annual reports". Cook adds "A considerable quantity of the material dates from before World War II, but the collection does include a complete set of the Annual Report since 1905 and of the magazine, 'Greater British Messenger', 1902-60. The surviving correspondence and Chaplain's books (registers) are also understood to be post-war in date.'' C.
