Description

The national records are held at the Commonwealth Headquarters. In addition local records are held by each Country, Region and County office [see additional information]. 95% of the material held has been catalogued at present, and includes committee minutes since 1910, annual and conference reports 1916 - 2006, unpublished research reports and financial records. Subject files date from 1910 and cover such topics as key figures in guiding, historical events and training centres. Newspaper cuttings and log books of the Commonwealth Headquarters have also been retained. Enquiries should be addressed to the Archivist at the Association's Headquarters. Additional information

Some counties of girlguiding have deposited their records in a local repository, a full list of which can be obtained from the NRA. There are also online catalogues available for some of these counties (at least 11 are listed on A2A with an advanced search using Girl Guides Association as the 'creator of Archives'. Researchers should also note that there are minor references to the Girl Guide Movement and the Girl Guides Association in A2A.
