| Background Information | The Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals (ASWA) is a small ecumenical Christian animal protection charity. It seeks to raise awareness of the suffering of animals worldwide, with a particular focus on the Anglican communion. In doing so, the Society follows in the footsteps of previous Christians concerned with animal welfare, such as the Revd. Arthur Broome, founder of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). ASWA is a member of the Association of Christian Animal Welfare Societies (ACAWS), along with Quaker Concern for Animals (QCA) and Catholic Concern for Animals.
