| Background Information | The Anglo-Albanian Association (AAA) was formed under the leadership of diplomat and British MP Aubrey Herbert, in order to promote Albanian independence. Following the Second World War, the focus shifted to assisting Albanian refugees who had made it to Britain from the now-Communist state. Links with Albania were restored in the 1990s, at which time the Association primarily undertook liaison and cultural work. Source: www.frosina.org |
