| Background Information | The British Humanist Association (BHA) promotes humanism, supporting and speaking for those who seek to lead a good life based on reason, experience and human values, rather than on religious belief or superstition. It aims for an end to religious privilege and discrimination in society. The BHA also trains and supplies officiants for humanist wedding, baby-naming and funeral ceremonies.
The BHA was originally established as a joint venture between Ethical Union and the Rationalist Press Association in 1963. Ethical Union then adopted the BHA name itself.
The BHA is affiliated to the International Humanist and Ethical Union.
