| Background Information | The Anti-Nazi League (ANL) seeks to combat the influence of the far-right in Britain. Formed on the initiative of the Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party (SWP), and closely allied with the SWP's other creation, Rock Against Racism, the ANL originally challenged the National Front, which enjoyed relatively high levels of popularity in the 1970s. The ANL then faded with the Front's popularity, only to be re-launched in 1992, in order to combat the British National Party (BNP). It now works through Unite Against Fascism, and the rock music campaign, Love Music, Hate Racism.
