| Background Information | The Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland is the umbrella body for local inner wheel clubs, community service organisations for the wives and spouses of Rotarians. The Rotary movement, associations of active or retired business people and professionals, formed to undertake community service, was first established by Chicago lawyer Paul Harris in 1905. The first Inner Wheel club was founded in Manchester in 1924, with the umbrella body being formed 10 years later. Inner Wheel became an international movement in 1967.
