| Background Information | The Attlee Foundation commemorates the life and work of Clement Attlee, the long-serving leader of the Labour party, and Prime Minister from 1945-1951. The Foundation works to benefit the socially excluded, with a particular emphasis on the young. As well as organising the annual Attlee lectures, the Foundation also runs the Attlee Youth and Community Centre in Spitalfields, East London.
