| Background Information | The Black Environment Network (BEN) is dedicated to increasing ethnic minority participation in environmental issues, arguing that "there is no such thing as a pure environmental project - a so called pure environmental project is one which has rejected its social and cultural context."
In order to increase participation, BEN undertakes training, advocacy, consultancy and other support functions, thereby building links between ethnic communities and established environmental organisations.
