| Description | Cook note that "A brief history of the first fifty years of NIESR's operations was published in the May 1988 issue of the National Institute Economic Review.
NIESR's papers have been retained at its offices, in the care of the Secretary. Surviving material includes minutes of the Executive Committee and the AGM since 1938; ledger books, quarterly accounts and petty cash books, and correspondence files. Copies of the Annual Report and of NIESR's publications such as the quarterly Review, discussion papers and briefing notes, are held on the premises in the Library. In the case of the latter material permission for access should be sought in writing from the Librarian, otherwise from the Secretary."
