| Additional information | The records of a former chairman of the Royal African Society (from 1959), Sir Charles Noble Arden-Clarke, have been placed at the School of Oriental and African Studies. However, according to the online catalogue, all records kept at SOAS relate to the period before Arden-Clarke was chairman of the Society. Researchers should also note there are manuscripts and photographs which once belonged to the Royal African Society in the records of the Royal Commonwealth Society, held in Cambridge University. A full list of these records can be found on the catalogue Janus. There are several minor references to the Royal African Society and the African Society in A2A and AIM25. |
