| Description | The Hospital Charity in its present form, as a legally distinct entity, only dates from the 1990's and its records are still held at their office. However, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Archives do have a variety of more historical records of past
fundraising activity when it was managed directly by the Hospital. Before joining the NHS in 1948 the Hospital for Sick Children in Great Ormond Street had been a charitable voluntary hospital since its foundation in 1852, so all its records from that period are charitable records that complement the records of the current charity. These records consist of:

| Access Rights | Open, under terms of relevant public records legislation. Office is open by prior appointment only, Monday-Friday 0930-1700. Some donor records will be closed on commercial/donor confidentiality grounds, including financial details of Sir James Barrie's ?Peter Pan? copyright gift to the Hospital. |
