| Description | RNIB hold a variety of items from the history of RNIB to the history of audio description. (please see the archive summary for the Peterborough site although it is now dated). RNIB have the old collection boxes, photos, etc, as well as annual reports covering the majority of blind associations. RNIB also have small collections in Stockport and London and these are also currently under review (July 2007).
The following information from Chris Cook is also still valid:
"The RNIB archive includes minutes of its committees and Boards of Governors from 1890 to the present; a full set of Annual Reports; copies of all papers published as a result of research commissioned by the RNIB; and correspondence files, organised by subject and largely dating from the 1930s.

| Access Rights | The physical archive is not currently open to visitors but if somebody enquires RNIB are able to deal with their enquiry and search for the information. If they find relevant items researchers are more than welcome to visit the site and RNIB can set up a room for use but they are not able to peruse the archives themselves. However it is hoped in the future that this will be possible. |

| Size of Collection | (Peterborough site): 14 rolling stacks each 4 metres in length, each with six shelves from floor to ceiling. |
|---|
| Finding Aids/Catalogues | Due to the moving of the archive in 2006 there is no formal catalogue available for searching, but it is hoped with the employment of an archivist to set this up so that there is an online catalogue listing all that is held in the archive. Currently, archivists from the RNIB work off spreadsheets that have been handed down and knowledge that they have acquired while carrying out searches. |
