| Background Information | The British Peace Assembly (BPA), a successor group to the All-Party British Peace Liaison Group, was a peace and disarmament group active towards the end of the Cold War. Its remit was the mobilisation of public opinion, and the BPA organised a conference on conventional and non-nuclear disarmament in 1989, at what was then South Bank polytechnic college (now South Bank University).
