| Additional information | According to information published in 1990 (information now out of date), at a time when the organisation was still active:
"Mr K.W. Allen (Clerk to Convocation, the City University Convocation, Northampton Square, London, EC1V OHB and, over the period 1972-81, Treasurer of the CUC) states that [records of CUC] are very scanty. Over the past few years in a personal capacity he has been trying to gather together what records he can find, depositing them in the University of Reading's Library, Whiteknights, Reading, RG6 2AE. These deposited records include the Minute Book of the Joint Standing Committee of Convocations, 1918-56, Minute Book of JSCC Executive Committee 1929-1968, Conference papers 1971-80, Reports and papers relating to conference themes 1970-81, Hon. Treasurer's Bank Account Book 1952-70 and Cash Book 1952-68, Balance Sheets 1945-66 and miscellaneous papers 1960s-80s (including further Hon. Treasurer's records).
Dr. Longbottom states that all the records of CUC prior to his becoming secretary in 1983 were deposited with the University of Reading.
Mr Allen has personal copies of minutes and some other papers of CUC going back to c.1955 when he personally first became involved in CUC.
It is possible that there may be records throwing light on CUC's history amongst the records of the original members. In the case of the University of Liverpool's Convocation, the Convocation records in the custody of the University Archives (Standing committee: Minutes 1906-27, Agendas and Reports 1907 - to date; Register of Members [c. 1915-1919]; Receipt book 1918-48) make the occasional reference to CUC."
