| Background Information | The Constitution Unit is a research body focussing on contemporary constitutional change in Britain, with a current focus on devolution, data protection and freedom of information, and Parliament. The Unit was established in anticipation of constitutional change under a future Blair Government, with leading figures including former civil servant Robert Hazell, and prominent centre-left figures David Marquand and Robert Maclennan. A brief lull after the 1997 general election was followed by the Unit's re-emergence within University College London's School of Public Policy, from where it follows and comments upon the Blair Government's continuing constitutional reforms.
